The water pressure is too low. Is there a flow restrictor in these shower heads?Updated 8 months ago

Yes, all of our shower heads come with a pre-installed flow regulator as per Federal and State regulations. We use the premier brand, Neoperl, as it maximizes the flow regardless if you have low water pressure or not. The flow regulator is a plastic piece that is either green (2.5 GPM) or blue (1.75 GPM) and is located inside of the female threads of the shower head behind the screened washer. While we cannot recommend removing the flow regulator, by removing it you will increase your water pressure significantly. Here's where you'll find them in our various products:

  • 1-and 3-Spray Handhelds: Inside the female threads of the shower holder or in the bottom of the handshower handle
  • Dual Shower Head: Inside the female threads of the rain shower head and bottom of the handshower handle
  • Rain Shower Head: Inside the female threads
  • 2-Inch Shower Head: Inside the female threads
  • Handshower only: In the bottom of the handshower handle

Accessories do not have flow regulators pre-installed. If your pressure is too high, please check that you have a flow regulator pre-installed. We will gladly send you a 2.5 or 1.75 GPM flow regulator, depending on your location.

Should the pressure still be low after updating your flow regulator, please ensure that there isn't a shower washer wedged in your shower arm pipe or in some other shower head fitting, as this can restrict the flow.

Also, your shower pressure depends on the pressure coming through the water line, so it's worth checking your pressure as this might be the cause.
