A little dripping from your shower head right after you shut off the water is completely normal.

Our solid-metal heads — like the 1-Spray Handheld and our rain shower heads — have a hollow internal chamber that holds a bit more water. Once you close the valve, that water drains out through the nozzles by gravity, so these typically take about 30 seconds to a minute to fully clear. Heads with internal components, like our 3-Spray and 5-Spray, have almost no open cavity and drain in about 5–10 seconds.

This isn't wasted water — it already ran through the valve before you shut it off. How long it takes can also vary with the height and angle of your shower head.

If it doesn't stop: A drip that keeps running steadily and never tapers off is different — that can point to a small leak at the shower valve, not normal draining. Reach out and we'll help you sort it.
