Is there a way to adjust the shower holder tension?Updated a few seconds ago
Yes, you can adjust the shower holder tension. The easiest way to adjust the shower holder is to have it fully installed, dock the shower head in the holder hook, and then use the shower head to maneuver the pivot ball like a joystick. The tension is normally too tight to adjust by hand, which is intentional to support the weight of the brass holder, metal shower head, and hose.
We recommend installing it first and seeing if you’re comfortable with the adjustment. It will also loosen slightly with use over time.
If you still want to adjust the tension, follow these steps:
Loosen the tightening mechanism
For older models: loosen the brass tightening ring directly.
For newer models: first loosen the set screw on the tightening ring using a 2mm or 2.5mm hex wrench (depending on your model), then loosen the ring itself.
Adjust the tension
Keep the shower head docked in the holder.
Hold the tightening ring firmly with soft-grip pliers or an adjustable wrench (wrap the ring with a cloth to protect the finish).
While holding the ring, turn the shower head in the holder: counterclockwise to loosen or clockwise to tighten.
This leverage will allow the holder to rotate and free up the tightening ring.
Lock in the adjustment
Find your preferred tension (avoid loosening too much, as the holder may sag).
For newer models, re-tighten the set screw to lock the tension in place.
