Then, use the Allen wrench (2) to loosen the handle set screws.</li><li>Remove the Handles:<ul data-path-to-node="6,1,1"><li>Slide the main valve handle (3) off of the square cartridge stem (4).</li><li>Slide the diverter handle (5) off of the splined cartridge stem (6).</li></ul></li><li>Remove the Plate:<ul data-path-to-node="6,2,1"><li>Once both handles are removed, pull the escutcheon plate (7) away from the wall.</li><li>To do this, start by releasing the top edge of the escutcheon, then pull it straight off the two valve bodies.</li></ul></li><li>Clear Debris: If the old rubber gaskets remain stuck to the wall, remove them and set them aside.</li></ol> <h4 style=" text-decoration: none;" id="part-2-installation-instructions">Part 2: Installation Instructions</h4><ol start="1" data-path-to-node="9" style=" text-decoration: none;"><li>Prepare the New Plate: Confirm that the 2 rubber gaskets are firmly attached to the rear of the new escutcheon (8).</li><li>Mount the Plate:<ul data-path-to-node="9,1,1"><li>Align the escutcheon plate so the smaller hole is positioned at the top.</li><li>Angle the top edge of the plate toward the wall (9) before pressing it in and onto the two valve bodies.</li></ul></li><li>Reinstall Handles:<ul data-path-to-node="9,2,1"><li>Slide the diverter handle (10) onto the splined cartridge stem (11).</li><li>Slide the main valve handle (12) onto the square cartridge stem (13).</li></ul></li><li>Secure the Hardware: Insert the decorative cover buttons (14) into the underside of the handles.
